ARP & London Mayor

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, met representatives of the Association of Relocation Professionals (ARP) on 6th April 2022 to discuss how practical arrangements for relocation can make London more attractive to business.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said: “Inward investment to the capital is vital in ensuring London recovers and thrives after the pandemic, and the relocation sector plays an important role in driving inward investment into London. That’s why I’ve asked my Deputy Mayor for Business Rajesh Agrawal and my business growth and destination agency London & Partners to work with the Association of Relocation Professionals to support this crucial activity. Working in partnership we can ensure London remains the ‘go-to’ global capital for international relocation.”

Deputy Mayor for Business, Rajesh Agrawal, said: “I look forward to working with ARP as the Mayor and I continue to ensure London maintains its status as one of the most attractive cities in the world to do business, and opening up the capital to the world.”

The meeting also discussed the levelling up agenda; the role of the All-Party Parliamentary Group, established by the ARP; relocation demographics and patterns; inward investment into London and applying best relocation practice from around the world in London.

Tad Zurlinden, the ARP’s Chief Executive, said ‘we are hugely impressed with Mayor Khan’s grasp of our sector, worth £5bn per year to London. We welcome his commitment to developing London’s international stature, which presents a tremendous opportunity to increase the city’s standing for companies seeking to succeed in Britain and beyond. The Mayor’s evident appreciation of our sector’s work and his sincere ambition to nurture entrepreneurship with his administration is fully in line with the ARP’s mission. We look forward to working with him and Deputy Mayor Agrawal.’
